Q: Why should my child take private lessons?
A: Private lessons give your child a chance to improve his or her technical and musical ability at an accelerated rate. In addition to helping your child’s musical endeavors, private lessons also give your child a chance to build a one on one relationship with a professional musician.
Private lessons also introduce your child to an unexplored avenue in public schools.
Q: What is the All Arts Academy Private Lesson Program?
A: All Arts Academy offers an after school program of private music lessons to supplement the school program. Lessons are given weekly or twice a week. The professional instructors are able to provide high quality instruction on all instruments for students at all levels of musical ability and experience.
Q: Why should my child take private lessons from the All Arts Academy Private Lesson Program?
A: It is often difficult for students to become involved with an instrumental or vocal music lesson program due to cost and or
geographic isolation. During the academic year, violin, viola, cello and piano lessons will be offered at a reasonable cost. This non-profit program provides your child the opportunity to study with professional musicians for a minimal amount.
Q: Does a student need to sign up for the entire year?
A: Students may enroll at any time according to space availability.
Q: Are lessons offered during the summer months?
A: Lessons during the summer are offered at the discretion of the individual teacher and are held on a more informal basis due to vacations, camps and other conflicts. Should you be interested in summer lessons and your teacher is not available, another teacher contact you as space allows.
Q: What instruments are taught in this program?
A: Instruction is available on the following instruments: violin, viola, cello and piano.
Q: What happens if my child needs to miss a lesson?
A: In the event of illness, the instructor is to be notified at his or her home on the evening before the scheduled lesson. If a student must miss a scheduled lesson due to an unavoidable conflict, the instructor will schedule a make-up lesson. When lessons are missed for invalid reasons or if the instructor is not notified 24 hours in advance regarding a legitimate absence, the lesson must be paid for at the usual rate.
Q: Who can I call to answer questions about the program?
A: You may call the All Arts Academy music department at (856) 383-9009
and direct any questions to Mrs. Mihaela Matei, Musical Director.
